Power BI publish settings for CastHub
To display a Power BI report on CastHub, publish the report to the web from Power BI and add the public URL as a Web Page slide. Below are the required Power BI settings.
1. Confirm Publish to web is allowed in your tenant
Publish to web is a Power BI feature that has to be enabled by your Power BI tenant administrator. If the option is not available in your File menu, your admin has not enabled it, or has restricted it to specific security groups. Check with your Power BI admin first; the option is in the Power BI admin portal under Tenant settings.
2. Publish the report
Open the report in Power BI Service. Choose File, then Embed report, then Publish to web (public). Read the warning about public visibility carefully: Publish to web is intended for reports that can be public, because anyone with the link can view the report. Do not use it for confidential or customer-identifying data.
3. Copy the link
Power BI generates two URLs. Copy the link for sharing (the longer URL with embed parameters), not the iframe HTML.
4. Add as a Web Page slide in CastHub
In CastHub, open the presentation, choose Add Web Page, paste the URL, and save. The report will refresh on the cadence Power BI provides (typically every hour for the embedded view).
For confidential reports
If the report cannot be made public, Publish to web is not the right tool. Power BI also offers Embed for your organization, which requires authenticated viewers. CastHub web page slides do not authenticate, so confidential reports need a different approach: most customers in this situation export a static dashboard image on a schedule and rotate that as an image slide, or build a public summary version of the report for screens.
