Digital Signage for Internal Communications
What internal comms screens cost, how Slack, Teams and Power BI content reaches them, and how to reach deskless workers across offices.

Digital signage for internal communications extends company announcements beyond email and Slack to the screens employees actually see during their workday: break rooms, hallways, shop floors, retail back-of-house, and field offices. CastHub doesn’t sync from Slack, Teams, Webex or an HRIS such as Workday: an announcement goes up as a slide or a PDF, from the dashboard or by asking Alex, the assistant built into it, and reaches every screen in the group at once. Most deployments cover 5 to 50 screens at $35 to $174 per month with flat-rate platforms, because CastHub Enterprise covers up to 25 screens at $95 and unlimited screens is a $79 per month add-on on top of that.
An internal communications or HR team can use break-room, hallway, and operational-area screens to push company announcements, KPI dashboards, employee recognition, training reminders, multi-office company updates, and birthday and anniversary content from one CMS, replacing email blasts that deskless workers never read and reaching the 80% of the workforce that has no screen access during shifts.
What is digital signage for internal communications?
Digital signage for internal communications is a network of screens placed in break rooms, hallways, and operational areas that displays company announcements, KPIs, employee recognition, and HR content from one centralized CMS. It bridges the gap between desk-based communication tools (email, Slack, intranet) and the deskless workforce: factory floor, retail back-of-house, distribution centers, healthcare staff, and field offices. How much does internal comms digital signage cost?
A 10-screen mid-size company deployment costs $35 per month with CastHub Pro, $80 with Yodeck Basic, $90 with OptiSigns Standard, or $200 plus VAT with ScreenCloud Core. Hardware adds $200 to $500 per consumer TV plus $99 per Amazon Signage Stick, totaling $4,000 to $6,000 for a 10-screen build. See the full digital signage pricing breakdown for category-wide cost ranges.
| Platform | 1-screen monthly | 10-screen monthly | Per-screen model |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yodeck Basic | $0 (free 1st screen) | $80 | Per screen |
| OptiSigns Standard | $9 (annual) | $90 | Per screen |
| ScreenCloud Core | $20 (annual) | $200 + VAT | Per screen |
| CastHub Pro | $35 (annual) | $35 | Flat rate |
How do you push Slack messages to digital signage?
Not automatically with CastHub: it has no Slack integration. Post the announcement as a slide or a PDF instead, from the dashboard or by asking Alex, the assistant built into it, and every screen in the group shows it. Some signage platforms offer Slack apps that show channel messages on screens. See push Slack messages to office screens for the options.
Does digital signage work with Microsoft Teams?
Not through CastHub. CastHub has no documented Microsoft Teams integration, no SharePoint integration and no Outlook calendar integration. ScreenCloud and Yodeck document apps that display Teams channel content, and Appspace and XOGO are the two native signage sources inside Microsoft Teams Rooms. What CastHub does display from Microsoft is a Power BI report published to web as a Web Page slide. See digital signage with Microsoft Teams for both surfaces priced.
How does digital signage reach deskless workers?
The 80% of the workforce that does not sit at a desk (factory operators, retail associates, healthcare staff, drivers, field technicians) has no email or intranet access during shifts. Screens placed in break rooms, time-clock areas, and operational zones reach them where they actually pause: arrival, lunch, shift change. The same approach drives manufacturing digital signage on shop floors and employee recognition in HR-led deployments.
Can digital signage display KPI dashboards from Power BI?
Yes, as a web page slide on Pro or Enterprise. Publish the report to web in Power BI (the tenant admin must allow it) and add its public link; the report refreshes on Power BI’s own cadence, typically hourly. A published report is public, so keep confidential data off it. Tableau public views and Looker Studio work the same way. Common deployments: revenue dashboards in sales offices, production KPIs on shop floor, NPS scores in customer success areas. See KPI dashboards on office screens for the options.
How do you handle internal comms across multiple offices?
Centralized CMS with role-based access. Corporate communications publishes company-wide content to all locations through a brand template; each office’s local admin overlays location-specific content. Per-screen pricing penalizes scale here. CastHub Enterprise covers up to 25 screens for $95 per month, and unlimited screens is a $79 per month add-on on top of Enterprise, $174 per month in total across all locations. See multi-office digital signage deployment, or corporate communications digital signage for brand-experience-led rollouts.
Can AI assistants run internal comms operations?
CastHub’s published MCP server exposes approximately 58 tools across 10 domains including presentations, devices, schedules, and alerts to Claude Desktop and Cursor. The CFO asks the assistant to put “Q4 numbers are in, 18% over plan, all teams” on every break-room screen. After one confirmation, the headline appears across all 14 office locations. No marketing team intervention.
