How CastHub MCP Compares
Not all MCP implementations are equal. Here's how CastHub's approach differs from the rest of the digital signage industry.
The MCP Landscape in Digital Signage
CastHub MCP brings the Model Context Protocol to digital signage with the deepest implementation available. Several platforms now offer some level of MCP support, but the scope, safety model, and operational depth vary significantly.
This page compares implementations based on publicly available information. We link directly to each vendor's site so you can verify every claim yourself.

The Depth Difference
Adding MCP to a dashboard is not the same as building an AI-native control plane. Most implementations bolt a handful of tools onto an existing dashboard-first product. The AI can do what the dashboard already does, just through a chat interface.
CastHub takes a different approach. The MCP server exposes approximately 58 tools across the full operational surface: content management, slide media uploads, device control, group operations, scheduling, emergency alerts, and Amazon Signage Stick device commands. Every action available through the dashboard is also available through AI, and several operations are AI-only.
What Governance Means in Practice
Governance is not just a feature checkbox. It is the difference between AI that can push content to a hospital lobby screen without approval and AI that requires human confirmation before anything goes live.
CastHub's governance model follows a preview-before-confirm pattern on every write. Tools are annotated with ReadOnly, Destructive, and Idempotent hints so AI clients know when to ask. The AI generates a preview, the human approves or rejects, and the operation only executes after explicit confirmation.
Signage MCP servers differ here: Fugo's also flags writes for confirmation, so ask each vendor how its server handles a write. Without governance, you are trusting AI to make deployment decisions autonomously. With governance, AI proposes and humans dispose.
The Visual Preview Difference
Other MCP Implementations
No preview. No confirmation. No visual proof.

Visual preview. Human confirmation. Risk-level annotations.
Hardware Control: The Layer Nobody Else Has
Most signage platforms treat hardware as someone else's problem. CastHub integrates directly with the Amazon Signage API to give AI control over the physical layer. Restart a frozen device. Turn displays on and off on a schedule. Verify what is actually on screen with screen capture. Monitor device health and connectivity.
This is the difference between managing content and managing a signage operation. When a screen goes dark at 2 AM, AI can diagnose the issue, restart the device, verify recovery via screen capture, and log the incident. No human needed for the initial triage.
The Pricing Difference
Most signage platforms charge per screen per month. That model punishes growth. The more screens you add, the more you pay, with the same software doing the same thing.
CastHub uses flat-rate pricing. At 50 screens, the math speaks for itself:
CastHub Enterprise + Unlimited
$174/mo
Unlimited screens, billed yearly (Enterprise alone: $95, up to 25)
50 screens = $174/mo
Per-Screen Competitors
$5–15/screen/mo
Per-screen pricing
50 screens = $250–$750/mo
